Orthodontics, introduced in Italy in the 50s, has been able to develop over time with the first Italian study group of Orthodontics, with the Italian Society of Orthodontics (SIDO - 1968), with the first School of Specialization in Orthodontics (Cagliari - 1973), then followed by others, and finally few initial pioneers to several thousand practitioners. From here the opportunity and the need of this series in which each word has a monographic character of various extension depending the subject.We tried to give much space to the iconography to facilitate use as text-atlas and to promote professional practice application. The text, always consice, was prepared with the maximum scientific and bibliographic rigor, and with a teaching and clinic approach, logical and valid. Being easy consult, the user will take full advantage, with the intent of making the learning of this discipline easier.
