Radiation medicine has evolved on several fronts over the past decade and is a useful adjunct in the definitive, adjunctive, and palliative therapy for several solid and hematologic malignancies. This issue coupled with Part I publishing in February 2006 should “de-mystify'”and update the practicing oncologists on how best to incorporate the radiation medicine team into the evaluation and management of patients.
